I mean, obviously I like this album (less obvious is how I missed it but whatever). It would be pretty much impossible for me not to.

One of my pet peeves with pop music is that a lot of pop artists are actually really good singers, but are frequently putting out songs that don’t serve their voices (and also have crappy lyrics but I guess that’s a separate issue).

I was torn about including this. I didn’t really like it as an album and as a musical soundtrack it gives some sense of character but almost no sense of narrative (then again, I don’t know that watching the show would make things much clearer.)

I can't deny that My Favourite Faded Fantasy is a beautiful album. The lush arrangements with Rice's plaintive, heart-wrenching vocals floating on top make for a transportive listening experience from beginning to end. But there's something about this album that makes me uncomfortable these days.
